The Sony Ericsson K330 is compact in size and simple in functionality

The Sony Ericsson K330 will never be known as a phone which has all the latest gadgetry. But in its defence it will also be considerably cheaper than most of those type of handsets as well. This handset is a budget phone with a limited number of features. Traditionally these types of handsets are used as replacement phones or second handsets. Although some consumers may buy it purely because it is simple to use.

The phone comes with a 1.7 inch TFT display screen which can display up to 65,000 colours. The images portrayed on the screen are colourful and offer a clarity which is becoming of a phone which is much more expensive. A 5 way navigation key is the primary means of accessing the features within the handset and is simple yet effective as well as responsive to touch.


The phone comes with a VGA camera which operates at 640 x 480 pixels and is good enough to take snap shots. The ability to record video is included within the handset and is an important feature which has grown in popularity over the last couple of years. Many now prefer video than taking photos as it is able to portray a great deal more information about the situation than a still image.



Alert types of either vibration or ring alert are provided with the Sony Ericsson K330 and can be used for a variety of features. The ability to use polyphonic or MP3 ringtones and the inclusion of a ringtone composer are useful additions.


Entertainment is offered via the MP3 player and FM stereo radio. Downloaded music has always been a popular option and this handset provides that capability. Local and national radio stations are available thanks to the built in radio.


The Sony K330 is 100 mm by 45 mm wide and 12 mm thick, it is a functional phone with limited features in as much that it doesn't offer features that increase the price tag. Its budget price will appeal to many in the current economic situation we find ourselves in.
