Wicked is a very worldwide popular theatre drama and people now feel a unique kind of affinity towards the character of the play. Since Wicked has been around for quite some time; the actors playing the main roles have been changed several times. However, some of the actors remain ever more unforgettable when it comes to the manner of character portrayal that they adopt. The basic plot line of the Wicked theatre is based upon two friends namely Glinda the good witch and her friend wicked witch of the west. The ladies were two witches of Oz whose friendship were put through difficult phases and eventually was forced to form into something else by the struggle within themselves and moreover, the struggle between good and evil. The main leads Elphaba and Glinda are good friends but the green colored skin of Elphaba forces people to develop a feeling of detestation towards her and she turns down sinister path. The main theme of Wicked that does interest people in general is the manner of portrayal of efforts that one has to make to get a sense of what they want in life and what choice they do have to make.
A Wicked movie has been long been in the pipelines and for some reason unknown, it is still under development without much hope perhaps. However now the Wicked Pictures is holding auditions for their new project of a musical parody which will be called The Rocki Whore Picture Show.
One of the most popular actors to play the role of Elphaba is Idina Menzel. Though she stepped back from the role that required her to don the green body paint and pointy black hat, she is still at as the misunderstood heroine. However, she expresses great appreciation for getting a role in the Wicked movie whenever it goes under production but she isn’t interested in playing the lead anymore as she recognizes the fact that it calls a performance of an actor much junior to her due to the age factor. Currently she has been doing marvelously well on the hit TV show Glee which also featured her ex- costar from the sets of Wicked, Kristin Chenoweth. The fans of Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel were certainly hoping for a Wicked reunion but Idina Menzel had something else to say. “I don't think anybody would've wanted a 'Wicked' gimmick,” Idina Menzel says, "We wanted to be on the show for who we are as individuals." About Wicked Idina Menzel’s view were “We’re so used to the Wicked Witch of the West being ugly and warty. But for Wicked, they thought Elphaba to be so much pretty. The only difference between her and all other is that she’s green.” if you are a Wicked fan then you can start hoping for Glee to go down on that road as soon as they can while they have access to these wonderful actors. .
