The impending arrival of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is causing waves within the mobile phone market. This android-based mobile phone utilises one of the fastest processors available on the market as well as offering a whole raft of technology that is advanced in every way. Measuring 119 mm x 63 mm wide and only 13 mm thick, this handset that weighs 135 g is a joy to behold.


The phone comes with a 4.0 inch TFT capacitive touch screen that operates at a pixel screen size of 480 x 854 pixels as well as being able to display up to 65,000 colours. It comes with a scratch resistant surface and an accelerometer sensor for auto rotating images dependent upon the orientation of the handset. The touch screen utilises the Timescape/Mediascape user interface.


The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 has 1 GB of memory storage internally, with most packages including an 8 GB SD card. For further memory expansion, the microSD card slot can by utilised to expand the memory up to 16 GB. The phone comes with class 10 versions of, GPRS and EDGE, as well as internet access via its HSDPA and Wi Fi connections. The handset utilises version 1.6 of the Android operating system as well as the Qualcomm QSD8250 snapdragon 1 GHz processor. This combination of fast processor and stable operating system ensures that the capabilities of the handset match its overwhelming functionality.


The Sony Xperia X10 also comes with satellite navigation and an MP4/MP3 player as well as Google search, maps and Gmail features. YouTube, calendar and Google talk as well as a document viewer and voice memo facility are also all included in this comprehensive handset. The phone is tabled to be released quarter one of 2010 and is eagerly anticipated.
