For fans of music and video playback on their mobile phones, storage has always been a problem. Short of installing an upgraded memory card (if your phone is compatible), there are few options to increase the available storage space for files. Nokia have solved this problem to some extent by installing 16GB of internal storage as standard in the X6, creating the X6 16GB.

Featuring TFT capacitive touch screen technology, up to 16 million colours are displayed at 360x640 on the 3.2 inch screen. This means the display is of very high quality and clarity. An accelerometer sensor is present which allows the content to be viewed in portrait and landscape based on the orientation of the phone. The screen is made from scratch resistant glass, which helps protect it from everyday accidents such as being dropped.

In order to customise the handset, MP3 files can be set as ringtones, which works alongside the standard vibration facility. Hands free talking is made possible thanks to a speakerphone with stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack.

With its large amount of storage, media files in a range of video and music formats are supported by the media player. These include video files in WMV, RV, MP4 and 3GP as well as music files in MP3, WMA, WAV, RA, AAC and M4A formats. A micro USB (v2.0) connection allows users to transfer files to and from a PC.

Other connectivity options mean the handset is connected in most areas. Class 32 EDGE and GPRS provide the initial means of network connection, whilst HSDPA is available at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps in areas covered by 3G. For a faster internet connection, the X6 16GB can utilise the signal given off by wireless internet routers. In order to transfer files between phones, Bluetooth is also provided.

An impressive digital camera is included with the package. It features 5MP (2592x1944) ensuring high quality snapshots and comes with a range of features making the task simple. These include autofocus, dual LED flash and video light. The camera itself features Car Zeiss Optics leaving users with no doubts about the camera's build quality. VGA quality video can be shot with the camera, and this is at 30 frames per second.

A long list of extra features mean this versatile handset is more than up to the task of coping with everyday tasks. An ideal handset for music fans, the style conscious are also catered for as the handset is available in a range of colours.
