A recent addition to Nokia's range of handsets is the impressive Nokia X6. A long list of impressive features coupled with aesthetically pleasing design means the handset is sure to appeal to all manner of users.

The Nokia X6 measures 111x51x13.8mm and weighs just 122 grams. Its light weight and slim line profile make it a comfortable device to hold and use. The TFT capacitive touch screen measures 3.2 inches and displays up to 16 million colours within a pixel set up of 360x640 for unparalleled display quality. The screen is manufactured from scratch resistant glass protecting it from everyday wear and tear. An accelerometer sensor allows the screen content to be viewed in landscape and portrait orientations.

Initially, this is via class 32 versions of both EDGE and GPRS in areas with little or no 3G coverage. In areas with adequate 3G coverage, HSDPA is available at speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. For a faster internet browsing experience, the Nokia X6 utilises Wi-Fi connectivity by using the signal given off by local wireless internet routers. Bluetooth and USB offer options when it comes to transferring data and files between other devices including compatible phones and computers.


The Nokia X6 is equipped with a digital camera boasting 5 mega pixels. This operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x1944 offering the means to take high quality still images. The inclusion of features such as autofocus and LED flash simplify the task, even in low light conditions. It can shoot video in VGA quality as 15 frames per second as an alternative method of image capture.

A combination of ringing and vibration alerts users to incoming messages and phone calls. Ringtones offer a means for users to customise their handset with the option to download polyphonic ringtones, as well as assign MP3 files as ringtones. Hands free communication is made possible thanks to a speakerphone system, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Nokia X6 also doubles up as an effective portable music player. Most common formats of video and music files are supported by the inbuilt media player. A stereo FM radio player and several pre-installed and downloadable games add to the entertainment experience offered by the X6.


Additional applications make the Nokia X6 a functional handset for everyday use. These include an organiser, photo editor and T9 predictive text input.
