The Nokia N900 is a stylish handset with a slide out full QWERTY keyboard included within its package. It is surprisingly small considering the amount of functionality the phone contains. It is 110 mm by 59 mm and 18 mm thick. It has a wealth of functionality and is able to perform numerous tasks whilst on the move. The keyboard helps with data entry and makes texting simple and effective.


The phones 3.5 inch TFT touch screen offers a colourful and vibrant display which displays up to 16 million colours. The screen can be viewed in either portrait or landscape which is dependant upon the usage required at the time. The inclusion of the accelerometer and proximity sensors helps the user by altering the aspect of images as well as saving battery life. The aforementioned QWERTY keyboard is excellent and responsive and makes data entry a doddle.


The Nokia N900 comes with a 5 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. The inclusion of auto focus and a dual LED flash helps the user to take effective images. Carl Zeiss optics are used within the camera to provide excellent quality imagery. The alternative option of video capture is provided within this handset and is at WVGA quality video at 25 frames per second.


Entertainment is provided by the inclusion of an MP3/MP4 player and a FM stereo radio. This provides multiple means of either listening to downloaded media such as audio and video files or simply listening to local and national radio broadcasts from a variety of stations.


GPRS, EDGE, HSCSD, Blue tooth and microUSB provide an extensive connectivity element to the handset which coupled with the HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections offer everything the consumer could require from any mobile phone. Internet access is provides at speeds of up to 10 Mbps which is one of the fastest connections available. Satellite navigation is provided by virtue of the GPS feature.


The Nokia N900 much like the Nokia 6760 is an impressive phone which is responsive and quick in every way. Much of this is down to the ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz processor and dedicated PowerVR SGX graphics which are both reliable elements. The handset is a useful phone is will no doubt become a popular handset.
