The Nokia 6500 Slide is a tough performer with very strategically placed keys that impart easy functionability. It's built is one of the strongest from Nokia and comes with a high-endurance steel casing.

The Nokia 6500 Slide was launched in 2007 along with a similar looking model called the Nokia 6500 Classic. Both the phones came with same features but the slider design and an enhanced media center of the Nokia 6500 slide clicked more with the masses and hence became more popular and fashionable. Although the phone appears a bit bulky and fat, it has a very solid built with tough looking exteriors made of superior materials. It is efficiently protected against aggressive scratches and dents by a solid stainless steel case.

It comes with an internal memory of 20MB which can be conveniently expanded upto 8GB by using microSD cards in the card slot. Priced just above the low-end segment the 6500 Slide is available in Steel and Black colours. The standard Li-Ion battery does look impressive with a talk time of 6 hours and a stand-by time of 310 hours. Equipped with a Class11 EDGE and a Class10 EDGE, the device gives suitable access to the internet by employing a WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML (Opera mini) web browser.


At the back of this toughie is a 3.15 mega pixel camera which is certainly one of the best from Nokia. This imaging unit flaunts optics from Carl Zeiss and also features an LED flash becomes really instrumental while shooting in low-light conditions. Although it lacks the fancy smile and face detection features it's comes with an adjustable auto-focus. Videos can be recorded at a decent rate of 15fps in VGA mode.
