Released in May 2009, the Motorola ZN300 offers an affordable slider handset but still has a variety of modern features. From a digital camera to social networking applications, the ZN300 is certainly a versatile handset.

The handset measures 95.6x46.15mm and weighs in at 103g meaning it is comfortable to hold and use. The TFT screen is capable of displaying up to 256,000 colours so the display is bright and vibrant.

A variety of ringing styles is included. Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages by vibration and ringing, with the options to download polyphonic ringtones and even utilize MP3 music files as ringtones. A speakerphone is built in allowing hands free communication. A 3.5mm headphone jack allows the use of hands free kits as well as headphones for listening to music.

8MB of internal memory in included for storage of media files, contact info and other files and data. However this can be expanded up to a generous 32GB by using the microSD slot. Several connectivity options include Class 10 GPRS and Class 10 EDGE as well as Bluetooth v2.0 which enables direct transfer of files and data between compatible Bluetooth handsets.


The ZN300 is equipped with a camera boasting 3.15MP which operates at a pixel resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. The camera comes with a flash ensuring good quality photos in low lighting conditions. It can even shoot video at up to 20 frames per second.

The phone's media player supports a range of file formats. Supported music file formats include MP3, WMA and eAAC+. Video files are supported in MP4, WMV, and 3gp formats. Media files can easily be transferred to and from a computer by using the provided micro USB (v2.0) port. A Stereo FM radio receiver adds to the list of media options on this phone. A selection of games is also included to keep users entertained.

Fans of social networking will not be disappointed with the ZN300. Facebook and MySpace applications allow direct access to these sites. Photos and videos shot on the phone's camera can be directly uploaded to Photobucket and YouTube via apps which allow direct access to these sites.

Other features of the phone include an organizer, voice memo recorder and a video mixer.


The range of technology provided is typical of a Motorola handset, with particular emphasis on the entertainment side of things. The phone also won't break the bank so is sure to appeal to a wide range of customers.
