March 8, Mumbai:
Shweta Tiwari, winner of Bigg Boss Season 4 is back on stage with Aaine Ke Sau Tukde, a solo performance that shall grip you right from the first line. Shweta Tiwari began her career with stage performance and is one of the most acclaimed faces in the Indian Television industry with her outstanding performance in Kasauti Zingani Ki as Prerna. One more feather was added to her cap with her winning act in Bigg Boss Season 4.

But this performance is different. Shweta is back to her roots “Stage”, with Aaine Ke Sau Tukde where first time she is playing 12 different roles and is seen in a never-before performance, which is gripping play presented by Dreamscape Entertainment. It is directed by Saif Hyder Hasan who has written 9 plays and directed 5 and which has all been staged to public and critical acclaim, the most popular ones being Aastha and Adhdha (based on a story by Gulzar). Saif was part of the jury of Classmate Young Author Contest 2006. The panel was headed by Ruskin Bond. Saif was also commissioned by BBC World Service Trust to write their radio drama series.

“The moment Saif narrated the story, I identified with it instantly. After I got out of the reality show I have been occupied only with rehearsals for the play. This play is one of the most challenging projects and really important for me as I am the only actor in the show wherein I will not be changing my outfits but changes in personality will happen. In one scene I will be playing 3 different characters at the same time”, as added by Shweta.

Aaine Ke Sau Tukde is a story revolving around sibling rivalry. This close to 2 hours solo traces the relationship between identical twins Minal and Maanya. Minal leads a happy childhood till her sister Maanya, who was living with her uncle, is brought back home. This shakes up Minal's childhood and sows within her seeds of hate. From childhood to adolescence to maturity and middle age, Minal constantly lives under the shadow of her sister's persona. And this infuriates her to no end. And then there is a twist that changes Minal’s perception towards life completely. This intense interior monologue spans forty years and is a riveting tale of love, lust and betrayal.
