The HTC Desire provides great integrated social networking with the integration of Facebook, as well as photo sharing on Flickr and video sharing on YouTube. The Android 2.1 with Sense user interface handset also has a 5 megapixel camera for video recording and image capture among its other features.

Multimedia is offered with the preinstalled Photos application which allows you to view photos and videos on the phone, while the Music application provides an intuitive music player with playlists and album artwork to enjoy through the 3.5mm audio jack connector with headphones or utilizing the Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate which comes with the A2DP (audio description) profile for wireless stereo headsets. Additionally, you can get live news and music from the handset with the built-in FM radio.

The Desire features Friend Stream which combines all of your contacts together and includes their phone details as well as their social networking status on Facebook, all in one view. The Facebook integration also means that it is quick and easy for you to update your Facebook wherever you go, or use the Peep application if you are more into twittering on Twitter. Additionally, Twitter is also integrated, as is the People app for easy access to all your contacts. More widgets and apps are downloadable to help customise your handset.


The phone has a QUalcomm Snapdragon 1 GHz processor and 576 megabytes of random access memory in addition to 512 megabytes of read-only memory to power through multiple applications on its Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system which includes the HTC Sense user interface to provide a combined and easy view of social networking and friends, among its other features. This is all brought to you through the full touch bar design of the handset featuring a large 3.7 inch touch sensitive WVGA (480 by 800 pixel) screen, which has pinch to zoom capability.

The handset also features an impressive 5 megapixel camera with both auto focus and flash, along with face recognition software for fast and simple photo shots that look great. Video capture is in widescreen ratio (16:9). Both images and videos have automatic location tagging (Geotagging), along with the other location based features offered by the handset due to its internal GPS antenna and digital compass. Google Maps and Footprints for navigation are also included.


The HTC Desire is a compact touch screen handset featuring a great camera for images and videos to capture good moments, while also allowing instant sharing on social networks or through its messaging capabilities.
