The HTC Desire offers the Friend Stream social networking widget

The HTC Desire includes the Friend Stream widget which shows the latest from multiple social networking sites, for easy and quicker interaction with friends and contacts. The handset has a large AMOLED touchscreen display and a powerful processor to offer a more unique and responsive phone.

The 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen has pinch to zoom capability and can provide a large display with greater clarity through the use of thinner and more responsive touchscreen technology present. The handset has a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which further helps the response time between touch and reaction, along with 576 megabytes of random access memory available when using multiple applications. The internal memory included is 512 megabytes with an expandable microSD card slot offering up to a further 32 gigabytes for the user.

The phone has an impressive 5 megapixel camera with both autofocus and flash. Additionally, it also provides face detection technology and widescreen photo capture in the 16:9 ratio. This all provides a powerful and easy tool to capture great photos and videos and enjoy them back on a large vividly colourful screen. Photos can then be shared on Facebook, Flickr or Twitter and videos can be shared on YouTube.


The Desire also offers integrated Facebook and for easy Tweeting on Twitter, HTC Peep widget, part of the HTC Sense intuitive user interface and experience which provides such widgets to the user, along with others including, Bookmarks, Calendar, Photo Album and Weather, while the user is also able to download further widgets.

The handset also includes a Music player and supports all major audio files for playback, as it does for video playback too. In addition to this, the user is also offered an FM radio to enjoy live news and music on the go too. All audio can be enjoyed through either the 3.5mm audio jack or alternatively wirelessly, through a Bluetooth headset thanks to the A2DP stereo Bluetooth connection also available.

The phone also offers Footprint which uses the integrated sensors and GPS to provide the user with turn-by-turn navigation and location based services, including geotagging for photos and videos captured.

The HTC Desire is an advanced touchscreen handset which offers the Android Eclair operating system enhanced by the HTC Sense user experience offering further functionality through preloaded and further downloadable widgets. The handset combines a large display with an easy to use user interface and software along with a 5 megapixel camera, integrated GPS and plenty of connectivity to offer the user a great phone.
