Alongside the QWERTY packing Desire Z, HTC has released the Desire HD. This long awaited Android smartphone sees a number of features which are sure to appeal to all manner of users.

With super fast internet browsing, 8 megapixel digital camera, and the new Android v2.2 OS, it is a powerful all rounder which offers every feature you could want from a smartphone.

The handset measures 123x 68x 11.8mm and weighs in at a mere 164 grams making it a pleasure to hold and use on the move. A huge 4.3 inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen provides an amazing level of display quality, thanks to the ability to display up to 16M colours within a pixel resolution of 480x 800. An accelerometer sensor is built in which automatically rotates the on screen content based up to the orientation of the phone which makes it perfect for viewing photos and videos.

Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages thanks to both vibration and ringing with the added bonus of being able to assign MP3 and WAV files as ringtones. The inclusion of a speakerphone system and audio jack allow handsfree communication to be carried out on the move with the minimum of fuss.

A generous 1.5 GB of internal storage is provided as standard, which on its own can store a decent number of files. Should further storage be required, users simply need to place a memory card of up to 32 GB in the micro SD card slot. This has scope to store a huge number of files, be they music tracks, video clips or documents.

Class 32 GPRS and EDGE provide the HTC Desire HD with its connections to cellular networks in all but the most remote locations. Internet access relies primarily on 3G coverage, whereby an HSDPA connection provides speeds of a whopping 14.4 Mbps. An enhanced browsing experience can be achieved thanks to full Wi-Fi connectivity whenever local wireless networks are available.

A stunning 8 megapixel camera means the HTC Desire HD is a great option for photography enthusiasts and even features the ability to shoot HD video in 720p. The camera comes with a comprehensive package of image tweaking features such as autofocus, face detection and a dual-LED flash. Geo-tagging is also included which, thanks to GPS, automatically tags the location at which a photo or video was shot.

The versatility of the Android OS is perfectly complimented with a 1GHz processor which handles demanding applications with ease. Whether you are looking for a multimedia entertainment device, a powerful web browser or a productivity tool for the office, the HTC Desire HD is the phone to be seen with.
