The Alcatel 303 is a simplistic handset which offers limited technology, however it comes with a more than affordable price tag. Simplistic in design, with an endearing colourful edge to the casing, the handset provides a cost effective alternative to high end specification phones. Released in 2009, this handset measures 107 mm x 46 mm wide and is 12 mm thick, whilst weighing only 66 g in weight, which makes it one of the lightest handsets on the market currently. As a second handset or replacement phone, this particular unit is ideal.

The Alcatel 303 red comes with an impressively colourful 1.8 inch CSTN display screen, which is able to display 65,000 colours at a pixel screen size of 128 x 160 pixels. Imagery displayed on the screen is colourful and vibrant. Below the display screen is the keyboard, which offers a responsive means of inputting text and data, whilst the multi-way navigation button is an effective means of navigating around the included functionality.

The handset comes with both vibration and ring alert options, with the ability to utilise polyphonic ringtones as standard. The handset comes with a speakerphone and phonebook capabilities, which retain up to 800 entries. The last 20 dialled, received and missed calls are also retained within the call record section and can be accessed as and when required. The phone comes with an internal memory a 2 MB, which whilst not the largest, is more than adequate for the range of functionality included therein.

A VGA camera is included within the package, which operates at 640 x 480 pixels and takes effective snapshot style imagery. In addition an FM radio with RDS capability and two games are included as well, for further entertainment. A useful organiser is included, that provides the means to keep abreast of any important information and appointments. The phone comes with class 10 GPRS, as well as the usual SMS and MMS capabilities. A WAP 2.0 browser is provided as standard.

The Alcatel OT-303 Red is one of three colours available, which include titanium grey and turquoise as the other alternatives. The phones standby time, is listed at up to 300 hours whilst the talk time of up to 9 hours is impressive. It is a simplistic handset, which simply provides the means to make and receive phone calls effectively.
