The Acer Liquid A1 Boasts Smart Phone Technology

Acer have put a lot of effort into their Smart phones lately and it shows with the Liquid A1.
This aesthetically pleasing handset offers a myriad of functionality and appealing design. Key features include a 5MP camera, internet access and touch screen technology. Incorporating Android 1.6 (Donut) as its operating system, and a powerful Qualcomm processor, the Liquid A1 is a powerful mobile phone.

The handset measures 115x62x5x12x5mm and weighs in at 135 grams making it comfortable to hold and use when on the move. The 3.5 inch TFT capacitive touch screen is capable of displaying up to 256,000 colours, and this is achieved within 480x800 pixels. It has a built in accelerometer which automatically rotates the on screen image depending on the orientation of the phone.

Vibration and ringing alert users to incoming calls and messages along with the option to utilize MP3 and WAV music files as ringtones. Speakerphone and a 3.5mm audio jack provide options for hands free communication when put and about.


Class 10 versions of both GPRS and EDGE provide primary means of connecting to networks. Where 3G coverage is available, the handset utilizes HSDPA at speeds of up to 7.2Mbps, and HSUPA at up to 2 Mbps. Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to harness the power of local wireless internet routers for an even faster internet connection. Finally, Bluetooth version 2.0 rounds off the list off connectivity features. This provides a simple and efficient means of sharing files and data with other compatible phones in the same vicinity.

As mentioned, the Liquid A1 has a 5MP camera. This functions at a pixel resolution of 2560x1920 pixels. It offers autofocus and geo-tagging as included features, and has the capability to shoot video in VGA quality at a rate of 20 frames per second.

The versatile media player supports a range of music and video file formats which can be transferred to and from a computer very easily thanks to a microUSB connection. Should more space for media files be required, a microSD slot can accommodate up to 32GB of forage by installing a larger memory card. Additional entertainment features include a variety of pre-installed games.

For social networking fans, there are applications which provide direct access to Facebook and Flickr.

Extra applications really add to the versatility of the handset. These include a document viewer and voice memo recorder.

This attractive handset delivers on all fronts. Its powerful software as well as hardware readily handles the most demanding of applications. This makes it a viable alternative to many of the more established Smartphone manufacturers available today.
