Released in October 2009, the Acer beTouch E101 offers a high-tech range of features and is aesthetically pleasing. A stylishly simple black facia is tastefully complimented by white casing. The combination of features and design has made this a popular phone.

The handset measures 113x56x12.8mm and weighs in at 118g. The 3.2" TFT resistive touch screen is capable of displaying up to 65,000 colours at 240x400 pixels ensuring a bright, vivid display. As well as touch screen navigation a scroll wheel is included for accurate selection of contacts and other data. Users are alerted to incoming calls and messages by vibration and ringing with the option of using mp3 and WAV music files as ringtones. A speakerphone is installed so users can communicate hands free.

The internal memory of the beTouch E101 is 256MB RAM as well as 512MB ROM. Memory can be enhanced by taking advantage of the microSD slot, allowing further storage for media files, contacts and call records and files.

A range of connectivity options comes with the handset. These include Class 10 GPRS and Class 10 EDGE, as well as Bluetooth version 2.0 installed as standard. This allows the direct transfer of files and data with other Bluetooth compatible handsets. A GPS function allows satellite navigation. This feature also comes with A-GPS support.


The beTouch E101 comes with a camera boasting 2MP which operates at a pixel resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. It also has the ability to record videos as an alternative. A variety of music files is supported by the music player. These are mp3, WAV, WMA and eAAC+. The phone's video player supports mp4, WMV, H.264 and H.263 files. A mini USB port means it is easy for music and video files to be transferred to and from a computer.

Other features included with the beTouch E101 are a variety of games to keep users entertained, Pocket Office which can view documents in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and PDF. A voice memo recorder and T9 predictive text input finish off the list of added extras. The operating system is Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional. Central processing is carried out by a very capable QUALCOMM MSM 7225 MHz processor.

The Acer beTouch E101 offers an attractive handset which is packed with a range of features.
