At the 45th annual Academy of Country Music awards that are scheduled on April 18, the Nashville star, Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift are racing against six male artists for winning the top prize. Out of the six, three are former winners of the entertainer of the year. Kenny Chesney won it in 2004 and 2007, Toby Keith bagged the title in the years 2002 and 2003 and George Strait was the winner in 1989. Other two; Brad Paisley and Keith Urban are the champions of multiple male vocalist of the year in 2006-2008 and 2004, 2005 respectively. The sixth and last contender is the Zac Brown Band. An online voting shall determine this year's ACM entertainer along with four newcomer awards.

Carrie Underwood has given us hit songs that talk about Jesus taking the wheel, a revelation, a Bible when one's loses his way, and about how Earth is just temporary, giving us a feeling of a Christian rocker. She admits that not only is she quite a lot spiritual but Mike Fisher who is her fiancé, has improved her ‘walk with God'. She adds, "It's important to me because down the road, I want someone who will help shape our kids into people who make the world a better place. Carrie Underwood praises her hockey star fiancé Mike Fisher for making her relationships better with God; both of them have a deep faith in Christianity. Underwood became engaged in December and she declares that their similar beliefs in religion have played a big role in the decision of settling down with the Ottawa Senator. This money will be used for building an animal shelter in Underwood's hometown.
