Konkona Sen Sharma is one of India's finest actresses and has done many films in Hindi film industry. Konkona Sen Sharma deserves respect when we talk about her movies and roles as she is not a conventional actor who has just appeared in some of the Hindi films. Konkona Sen Sharma is daughter to journalist Mukul Sharma and director and actress Aparna Sen. She entered the world of films through the film Indira,when she was very young. In 2000, she appeared in a Bengali suspense movie titled Ek Je Aachhe Kanya, her 1st movie.

Acting potential of Konkona Sen Sharma in the movie Mr and Mrs Iyer, where she enacted the character of a South-Indian mother, was recognized nationally. Her role as a journalist in the movie Page 3, was very accepted by the audience. After this film she has acted in several more movies, for which she has got excellent critics. She got the award for Best Supporting Actress in Filmfare Awards successively for 2 years for the films Omkara and Life In A Metro.

Her versatility was proved when she convincingly enacted the character of a psychologically ill woman in 15 Park Avenue and gave life to the character of a prostitute in Traffic Signal. She acted in 2 mainstream films made by Yash Raj films. Naamkoron was her short film with duration of 18 minutes. The Kala Ghoda Film Festival saw the screening of her film.

Mira Nair's short film titled 8, For How Can It Be?, saw Konkona Sen Sharma performing a character. One can also watch her in The President Is Coming, an English movie. She got good comments for portraying the lead character opposite to Farhan Akhtar, in the film Luck By Chance. She experimented with comedy genre and appeared in Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge and Wake Up Sid.

For the first time she appeared in a play called The Blue Mug, which also had Rajat Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Sheeba Chadha and Ranvir Shorey, her husband. She was seen to be anchoring in the National Geographic Channel in a show My Brilliant Brain. Viewers can see her stunning performances in a few of the upcoming movies like Mirch, Jackpot and Sunglasses.
