Spironolactone is a diuretic which is more commonly used to treat high blood

Sprionolactone treatment dose is 50mg to 100mg every day. The dermatologist
will start you at 25mg and titrate the dose up over several weeks.
If you tend to breakout only the week before your menses you will only need
to take spironolactone for that week. It is commonly prescribed with oral
contraceptives to treat acne. It is also prescribed with topical acne agents.
There can be side effects with Spironolactone including irregular menses, breast
tenderness, dry month and thirst, stomach cramps, diarrhoea, vomiting, headache,
dizziness, increased potassium levels and lower blood pressure.
Blood pressure and potassium blood levels should be checked while you are on
this medication. Pregnant women should not use it. It should not be used if
you are suffering with kidney problems, breast cancer, ovarian cancer or
uterine cancer.
