The Sony Ericsson Satio is a revolutionary mobile phone. It houses a wealth of features all designed with enjoyment in mind. It incorporates an ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz processor as well as the Symbian Series 60 operating system to process its features, and the result is a responsive and effective functional mobile phone, housed within an exquisite outer casing.

The phones immediate impression is one of a media player. This is due to the fact that the 3.5 inch TFT touch screen is vibrant and displays 16 million colours at a size of 360 x 640 pixels. Images simply jump out of the screen with clarity of image that is second to none. An accelerometer sensor is included which automatically corrects the aspect of images shown on the screen.

One of the Sony Ericsson Satio most impressive features is the 12 mega pixel camera. Image quality is better than most stand alone digital cameras, with help from the suite of photo aids which includes auto focus, touch focus, geo-tagging, smile and face detection. To ensure sufficient illumination the camera comes with a xenon flash. Video recording and playback is included within this phones capability and is an alternative to static image capture. Video is captured at VGA quality and at a 30 frames per second.

GPRS and EDGE, Blue tooth and USB offer numerous opportunities to connect to other devices and systems whilst the HSDPA and Wi-Fi connections provide internet access at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps with the choice of using either its own connections or Wi-Fi hot spots, which are usually in public areas. For satellite navigation, the GPS with A-GPS support feature will do nicely.

The Sony Satio also provides means of entertainment, by means of an MP3 player and stereo FM radio. It can be hard to believe that all this advanced technology can be fitted into a handset which measures only 112 mm x 55 mm wide and 13 mm thick, however, Sony have managed it. But more than that, they have provided a handset which is an ideal companion to anyone who uses a mobile phone.
