I have always admired Japanese manufacturers, especially the ones who deal with consumer electronics. Sony happens to be my best among them. According to Wikipedia, "They merged with the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson to make mobile phones. The stated reason for this venture is to combine Sony's consumer electronics expertise with Ericsson's technological leadership in the communications sector. Both companies have stopped making their own mobile phones."

The new Sony-Ericsson Zylo mobile phone provides consumers with the best music experience they have come to expect from Walkman cell phones but go one step further and marry music with social networking. From Twitter to Face book, consumers can catch up with friends at just a touch of a button while still listening to their favorite music on the Walkman player. Another key function available on the Sony Ericsson Zylo mobile phone is TrackID - which allows consumers to access the name and artist of a track they hear playing wherever they are. This function has proved popular with music lovers world-wide with 129 million TrackID lookups in 2009 alone. Wow, I cannot wait to get one of these mobile phones as I very fond of listening to music while I am on the go. I guess they will be out in the third quarter of 2010.

The phone has the following features: 3.2MP, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth, 3G, USB, FM radio, Google Maps. This 115g phone has a lithium Ion battery. It has added features like 3.7" Touch screen color display. The handset is equipped with 5.0MP Camera. The handset comes with connectivity options like GPRS, EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth, and USB. The phone has 260MB internal Memory and an upgradeable memory using a microSD card up to 16GB. This phone comes with additional features like MP3 Player, FM Radio, Email, and Communities like Face book & Twitter.

Mr. Peter Ang who is the vice President of Marketing in the Asia Pacific region for Sony Ericsson says that, "The Sony Ericsson range of Walkman phones has seen tremendous success since it was first launched in 2005 having sold more than 130 million handsets to date - and we are still seeing a great appetite from consumers. Today's announcement aims to satisfy this demand by making the Walkman phone range available to a wider audience."

Oh well, let's wait and see what Sony Ericsson has to offer this time around. They usually do not disappoint as they have been market leaders and beaters for so many, many years. I guess everyone is curious to know about the pricing details. It would be a good idea to find out the price by surfing through a few price comparison portals and check for yourself. Some sites on the Internet allow you to click, compare and buy. Or else you can go looking for one in the stores; this process will be tiresome for some.
