Sony Ericsson unveils Yari mobile phone which features Gesture gaming technology. The Sony-Ericsson Yari handset introduces a games carousel that allows you to access all your games from your desktop and to browse downloadable content on PlayNow arena. The Sony Ericsson Yari is a 3.5G slider phone with an unusual name, and an unusual approach to gaming. Yari has got a pretty decent 5 megapixel auto focus camera with up to 4X digital zoom feature that allows the phone to track your movements when you're playing games.

Sony Ericsson Yari measures 100X48X15.7mm in size, weighs 115gms and comes in two hues namely cranberry white and achromatic black. Sony Ericsson Yari comes with a 1GB Micro SD card and MH300 headset. Its 2.4 inch display screen supports 240X320 pixels. Talk time UMTS is up to 4.5 hours while its standby time is up to 450 hours. This sony ericsson handset supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UMTS/HSUPA 900/2100. This latest sony ericsson cell phone comprises of many features such as face and smile detection, Geo tagging, auto focus, photo fix and send to web. With the camera, users can also record stunning video. Music lovers would not be disappointed as the phone also incorporates loads of music features. These include Music Player, Mega Bass, FM radio, Album art, bluetooth stereo, stereo speakers and shake control. It comes with a 2.4-inch display screen, a 60 MB of storage with 1GB micro SD memory card. For enhanced location-based applications there exists A-GPS support for Yari. Network that Sony Ericsson Yari mobile supports include GSM, EDGE, GPRS and HSDPA. The company promises a variety of games to choose from, whether you want to keep fit and stay in shape or just want to beat your best score at tennis or boxing.


Sony Ericsson Yari comes with microSD expandable memory rather than Sony's Memory Stick Micro. There's a 1GB memory card in the standard sales package, in addition to a wired headset and phone stand. The NetFront browser performs reasonably, though there's no streaming Flash video support, and the gaming works well within the limits of a cellphone.
