Many landlords are now beginning to seriously think about environmental issues, and using a solar energy system to heat a building's water can do a lot to make an environmentally conscious tenant happier. If you own industrial buildings, residential apartments or commercial buildings, your potential tenants will see the fact that a building uses green energy as a major advantage. Switching to green energy whenever possible speaks volumes about your ethics to potential renters.

Green credentials aside, there are lots of reasons to install solar panels. You can cut your gas and electric bills significantly by becoming less reliant on your gas or electric boiler. Any savings can be used to add to your profits, make you more competitive by passing savings on to tenants, or both.

Solar heated water is not a new concept, of course. Experiments into the potential uses of solar power were conducted as early as the mid nineteenth century. However, while the technology has come a long way over the last few decades, until recently solar power was somewhat unreliable in cold and cloudy regions. And yet this is where energy bills are at their highest. The recent development of vacuum sealed solar heating tubes, however, are allowing a growing number of people to switch to a solar energy system.

Solar heating tubes' cylindrical shape allows them to be positioned in such a way that some of their surface is constantly facing the sun, allowing them to absorb the suns rays for longer. As they can harness the sun's power more efficiently, they are are much more effective at heating water during the winter and on cold days. Being vacuum sealed increases their efficiency further given that vacuums provide the optimal situation for insulating the heat source. This means that less power is wasted. The heating element on the inside of the tube will become hot, while the outside of the tube, insulated by the vacuum, remains cool. This will result in much more of the solar power being stored and used to heat the water in your building.

The power used by your boiler system represents a substantial chunk of the electricity and/or gas used in your building. You can cut your energy bills and those of your tenants significantly by installing solar heating tubes and using green energy to your advantage. You will only have to buy and install your solar heating tubes once, and the savings will keep on coming.

There's never been a better time than now to begin using green energy sources such as solar water heating tubes. Governments all over the world are offering significant incentives to in courage building owners to install a solar energy system which generates renewable energy sources. In most countries you will be eligible for a tax rebate to cover the expenses of installing a solar energy system. Sooner or later, all buildings will need to conform to strict environmental regulations regarding the energy they use. It would be more advantageous to get on board now, while the government will help defray some of the costs.
