Samsung Offer An Eco Friendly Alternative With The S7550 Blue Earth

With the environment at the height of many people's concerns these days, more and more products are manufactured in a way that is labelled "Eco-Friendly". Now it seems that the mobile phone market has taken this into consideration. The Samsung S7550 Blue Earth is made from eco friendly materials and features a solar panel for charging the handset by using sunlight in an attempt to save electricity.

The handset measure 108x53.6x14.2mm and weighs 119 grams, it's light weight making it comfortable to use. A 3 inch TFT capacitive touch screen displays 16 million colours at 240x400 pixels meaning the depth and clarity of on screen images is of high quality. It features an accelerometer sensor which rotates the on screen image according to the orientation of the phone.

Polyphonic ringtones can be downloaded and MP3 music files assigned as ringtones allowing customisation of the phone, both of which operate alongside vibration. For communicating hands free, a speakerphone is installed.


130MB of internal memory provides storage for media files and other data, as well as a micro SD slot which can accommodate a memory card of up to 16GB allowing further storage.

Class 12 GPRS and EDGE provide the primary means of connection. In areas where 3G coverage is available, a HSDPA connection is available at speeds of up to 3.6Mbps. Wi-Fi connectivity allows a faster internet connection by utilizing the signal from local wireless internet routers. Bluetooth lets users share files between compatible handsets in the same vicinity. Finally, a USB connection (v2.0) allows the handset to be connected to a computer for transferring and backing up data such as media files.

On the subject of media files, a versatile media player accommodates music and video files in a range of formats. For additional entertainment options, a stereo FM radio player is installed as well as a variety of pre-installed games with the option to download extra ones if required.

The S7550 Blue Earth features a built in digital camera which boasts 3.15 mega pixels which operates at a pixel resolution of 2048x1536 pixels for taking reasonably high quality still images. To simplify this task it also features face and smile detection. As an alternative to taking still images it also offers the ability to shoot video in QVGA quality at a rate of 15 frames per second.


Additional features include a handy organizer, document viewer, voice memo recorder and T9 predictive text input.

As well as offering an eco-friendly alternative, the S7550 Blue Earth remains a functional handset, whilst it's attractive blue colour scheme adds to the appeal to style conscious users.
