RIME Magazine’s New Hip Hop Website is Rising Fast

Los Angeles, CA - RIME (www.Rimemag.com) is a long time platform for everything L.A. and Hip Hop. Our 8 years of print and online publishing has made Rime one of the most well-known and credible publications in the world. Our re-launch of the website in 2009 has catapulted RimeMag.com into closer territory of the top urban websites. Our Alexa ranking has risen rapidly from 2,100,000 in June 2009 to 389,000 as of Sept 2009. RimeMag.com is currently ranked as 62,000 out of all websites registered in United States.

Available through the site we also offer our new digital magazine that offers the same layout, text, and advertisements as our printed version, while improving accessibility and reach...which also now includes the Rime iPhone App.

Founded in 2001 by Jason Flores at age 19, Rime's first issue was distributed by hand by Mr. Flores until getting two Tower Records accounts. After approximately two weeks, Mr. Flores received a phone call from the purchaser at Tower Headquarters in Sacramento. Because the magazines in both stores had sold out, Tower wanted the publication in all their stores, nationally.


Once national distribution was attained rather quickly in early 2002, Rime was fortunate enough to extend its distribution with Ingram Periodicals, allowing Rime's entrance into Borders, Barnes & Noble, B. Dalton and others nationally.

The steps to growth continued when in 2003, Jason Flores signed a contract with Curtis Circulation, the nations largest magazine distributor (Oprah, Rolling Stone, Maxim, Sports Illustrated). This launched Rime into a new category, as a contender to some of the largest most influential urban mags in the world. Our content has been known to be some of the most sought-after and respected types of articles in our industry:

Over the years, Rime's distribution has stretched worldwide, moving hundreds of thousands of magazines globally. Despite trimming some of our print distribution due to the economic recession of 2008/2009, we've excelled even further by the development of digital platforms such as the Rime store, Rimemag.com and our iPhone App. Our current digital reach is over 100,000 per month.


Our goal is continue the strong growth within the industry and develop new ideas in the digital spectrum.
