Removing Chest Hair For Men

Many men are not comfortable with having large amounts of chest hair. It could be too hot, too thick or perhaps interferes with other physical activities such as swimming or body building.

Removing unwanted hair from the chest can be done with a razor, although this can cause severe razor burn, since chest hair tends to be thick and coarse, making it difficult to shave. Electric beard and hair trimmers can often reduce the amount of hair, or even scissors will work.

The quickest method to remove hair is waxing. It sounds scary, but its quite effective, and the chest will remain smooth and hair free longer than other methods.

To begin, first trim the hair down with shears or a trimmer to make it easier to work with. This also reduces the curls and tangles commonly associated with chest hair. Take a good look at the direction of the hair growth. Typically, male hair grows in more than one direction depending on the section of the body. For the chest, it may start in a downward growth at the shoulders and then switch to and upwards growth for the chest.

You may wish to apply a small amount of oil or talcum powder to the area being waxed for a more comfortable waxing and less irritation.

Once you've determined the hair direction, apply warmed wax in a small strip down the centre of the chest. Apply the cotton strip (again in direction of growth), over the wax. Take a deep breath and then pull the strip in the opposite direction of the growth pattern. One quick motion is required to ensure the wax and strip come off, along with those unwanted hairs.

Repeat this process moving outwards from the starting line in both directions. Remember, do a small section at a time for quick removal of the strip. When you've reached your desired look, rinse your bare chest with cool water to remove any leftover residue from the process. A little lotion such as aloe vera, will soothe and calm the skin.

Waxing can be quite painful, although the results are highly effective. I suggest you seek a professional the first time, since doing it yourself could be difficult and you may not be able to reach all the areas you need to. However, once completed, your waxing should keep your chest hair free for several weeks.
