There is a new miniseries about to show on HBO called 'The Pacific, it is about America's great war stories - promising to be one of the best war shows ever. The characters are interesting and the storylines are based on truth.

The new show will air in the United States on March 14th, 2010. You will see storylines dealing with the Battle of Guadalcanal, the Battle of Cape Gloucester, the Battle of Peleliu, and the Battle of Okinawa.

If you watch The Pacific TV show, you are sure to catch lots of action. The show details true events. The series is actually based on the memoirs of two soldiers, both having experienced many of these battles. The first memoir is, 'With the Old Breed' by Eugene Sledge and the second is called 'Helmet for My Pillow' by Robert Leckie.

Based on The Pacific trailer, there will plenty of intense action. So far there have been three trailers released so you can watch The Pacific online to see what to expect. Steven Spielberg, the well known director, is one of the show's producers. There are several other producers including Gary Goetzman and Tom Hanks.

The show has actually already been filmed and filming took place mostly in Australia. Even though the original budget was set at $100 million, actual costs totaled over $150 million. Most of that budget was spent in Australia.

The Pacific is going to be released on March 14th in Canada and on March 15th in Spain.
