Rachel Ray Cookware: Steps to make an Eye of the Round with Onion Gravy

Great news for everyone! One of the best dishes is back again! The ‘Eye of the Round' with onion gravy will be served again in your dining table. Using Rachel Ray Cookware , this simple but very good dish can be made easily. Prepare your Rachel Ray Cookware sets needed for this rewarding cooking that you're about to take.

Ingredients for Eye of the Round:

• 1 cup chopped onion

• 2 tsp salt

• ¼ tsp pepper

• ½ tsp dried leaf thyme

• ½ tsp paprika

• 1/8 tsp nutmeg

• 3-lb eye of the round roast

• 6 strips bacon

Carefully read the following procedure:

1.Heat oven to 160 degrees Celsius.

2.Sprinkle bottom of shallow Rachel Ray roasting pan with onion.

3.Combine salt, pepper, thyme, paprika and nutmeg and then rub all over outside of roast. Lay it on top of onion (not on rack). Lay slices of bacon close together over the top of roast.

4. Roast 1 ½ to 2 hours—60 to 70 degrees Celsius on meat thermometer—serve sliced very thin with Onion Gravy.


5.This roast is best cooked only until rare or medium—it is likely to be tough if well done.

Of course the Eye of the Round will not become totally a mouthwatering dish without the onion gravy. This is one way you prepare one:

Ingredients:

• Drippings from roast

• 1 large chopped onion

• 3tbsp flour

• 1 cup water

• 1 cup milk

• Salt and pepper and will give you

Procedure:

Pour drippings from Rachel Ray pan into medium Rachel Ray saucepan (most of the drippings will be from the bacon and will give the gravy a different and good taste). Add onion to drippings and cook gently within three minutes, stirring. Sprinkle in flour and let it bubble. Remove from heat and stir in water and cook until boiling, thickened and smooth, stirring constantly. Taste and add salt and pepper if necessary.
