Why Are Allergy Cookbooks So Important?

By: Jake Winley | Posted: 20th October 2009

Regardless of whether you are experienced in the kitchen or a complete novice, allergy cookbooks have something to offer you. Whether it is you, a family member or a close friend who has the food allergy, this type of cookbook will teach you something new.

Personally, I've been living with celiac disease for over 8 years. I'm also intolerant of dairy products. I remember when I was first diagnosed and mentally went through all the foods that I'd now never be able to eat again.

I remember that my feeling was one of being lost. How would I cope with all these ingredients that I could no longer eat? How would I remember what I could and couldn't eat? What on earth was I going to eat now?

Are you feeling personally overwhelmed by these questions? Allergy cookbooks saved me from feeling overwhelmed. They gradually taught me what I could and couldn't do. They made me feel like I wasn't alone in my allergies. Other people out there who also love food like I do could still create delicious yet safe food in the kitchen.

Now that I've been living with the bundle of joy that is my food allergies for quite some time I'm probably even more keen on allergy cookbooks. It's very easy to become set in your ways in the kitchen and end up cooking the same dishes over and over again. Eventually you become bored of your repertoire. Allergy cookbooks are a good way to break you out of that rut and try new and exciting things.

Don't feel limited or overwhelmed by your food allergies. Find some great allergy cookbooks today.
