Have a 1940's party bash and celebtrate a 40th birthday in style. There are many party supplies, decorations, foods, and party games to ensure that the 40th birthday party will not be forgotten any time soon.

Celebrate! Turning 40th it is a marvelous time of life. For many, forty is really the new thirty and live is just getting started. With that in mind, include 40th birthday party decorations, along with over the hill party supplies. Over the hill party supplies can consist of grim reapers, ravens, and gravestones.

For those who were born in 1971 or will be forty in the coming years, a hippie swinging 70's party is an option.The 1970's had the swinging hippie generation, so have a hippie party for anyone born in the early 1970's. Have 1970's decorations including bright electric colors on invitations, posters, and thank you notes; along with some old school 70's music. 1970's food and drinks included zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, crepes, quiche Lorraine, cioppino, fettucine alfredo, pasta primavera, glazed strawberry pie, granola fondue, carrot cake, strawberry-banana smoothee, broccoli casserole, lemon bars, strawberry squares, pineapple mulled tea, Daiquiri punch bowl, and pineapple fizz.


Don't forget that a 1940's themed party will work great for a person turning 40 too. A 1940's theme party is a fantastic way to celebrate, not only a 40th birthday, but also any birthday for that matter.

Throwing a 40's theme birthday party will require some basic party supplies and decorations such as movie and celebrity posters, and 1940's costumes. Forties food and drink is also necessary to complete the party as well. Forties food included hamburgers, sauteed bananas, buttered spinach, radish salad, mashed potatoes, buttered spinach, hearts of lettuce, French dressing, bread, applesauce, sponge cake, tea, and milk.

40th Birthday Party Games: To ensure everyone remains involved in the party, implement various party games related to the theme. One option is to ask various trivia questions on the decade selected for the party theme, i.e., 40's or 70's decade trivia. Ask multiple questions to guests and give all in attendance an opportunity earn party favors.


There are lots of great 1940's games, like Have you ever that make a party come to life. Give everyone slips of paper and instruct everyone to write down five things they have done Then, place all slips of paper into a large bowl or container. Everyone sits in a circle and one person stands in the center of the circle. That guest shall then out loud read the note taken from the bowl. Everyone who has had the experience that is read has to get up and switch seats. Award points to each individual who has done what was read. The person with the most points is the winner - or loser depending on how it is looked upon.
