Perletones for Nails

It is important to take good care of your nails and hands, as clean nails that have been shaped, carefully filed and polished can enhance the hands’ look.

Indeed your hands can say much about your lifestyle and personal hygiene, so it is essential to take care of them (as with your general appearance) as they will count in making a good first impression! Apart from keeping your hands clean through regular washing, moisturising the hands, eating good healthy foods (especially fruits and vegetables) as part of a healthy lifestyle, keeping reasonably hydrated, nails can be further cared for with a manicure or be given a completely new look with nail varnish.

There are many variations of nail polish to choose from, perletones are an example that can give the nails a shimmer effect. They share the same colour as naturally occurring pearls (hence the name) whose effects are in contrast to matte tones. Like natural pearls, perletones are available in white, beige, pink and yellow, natural hues, and they also occur in rare pearl colours such as grey, black and brown. Synthetic perletones are available in a variety of colours such as lilac, red and green.

It has been said that other nail polish colours such as silver and gold, can be described of as a type of perletone because of their special shimmer and shine. It is conceivable to say that almost any colour can be described as a perletone variant if a shimmering quality is added, which would make the surface reflect normal white light and divide light into every colour of the light spectrum to give that shimmering effect.

The variety of nail polish colours from matte to shimmering rich colours or glittering to perletones, allows the same colours to appear very different, if you have a favourite colour then, wearing the same colour needn't be viewed as being boring! It is this versatility, fast drying formulas and chip resistant qualities that give women the confidence to use nail varnish to match the clothes they are wearing. The good quality, strong, long lasting and chip-resistant nail polishes do not require frequent touch-ups.

To get the best look, let each applied layer/coat of nail polish to dry before applying additional layers/coats on top. It is always handy to have a cotton bud available to remove excess nail varnish from the tops of the nail polish bottle as this will prevent the top being glued shut when the colour dry’s, always store nail polish in a cool dry place.
