One Tree Hill, "the little show that could" (Mark Schwahn), has graced our television screens since September 23 2003. In its early years, OTH struggled with ratings but managed to garner a large, strong and devoted fanbase. Viewers fell in love with; the deep, confused and skilled Lucas, the troubled Nathan, the 'best friend' with enough brains and kindness for the country, Haley, the 'lonely cheerleader', Peyton, and the slutty but lovable, Brooke.

In the following 4 years, One Tree Hill's residents matured and grew, as did its devoted and now international fan base and created some of the most powerful scenes in television history ('With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept') while managing to cram in light hearted moments ('I Will Dare'). As season 4 rolled to a close, our beloved characters had matured and grown beyond their years and had achieved state basketball championship, helping run an all ages club (Tric), starting a fashion line (Clothes Over Bros.) and even touring the country with a rock tour.

In early 2008, One Tree Hill made television history by being one of the first television series to jump forward in time between seasons. To be precise, 4 Years and 6 Months and 2 Days. This began Season 5, which also featured what some cast and crew to be 'a miracle'. On March 18 2008, One Tree Hill turned 100. One year later, contract issues and (to this day) unknown situations caused Hilarie Burton (Peyton) and Chad Michael Murray (Lucas) to leave the show in the final episode of Season 6.
Season 7 featured the return of Brooke, Haley and Nathan with 3 new additions; Robert Buckley (Clay), Shantel VanSanten (Quinn) and Jana Kramer (Alex).

On April 19 2010, 6.5 years since its beginning, One Tree Hill will celebrate its 150th episode.

One Tree Hill has bought financial benefits to North Carolina as well as performed benefits for the U.S Army and Breast Cancer support just to name a couple. It's reached out to its fans and even toured to little Honey Grove.

Through changing networks, losing major cast members and other obstacles, One Tree Hill is still going strong and performing well with its original fan base still strongly intact.

Recent media releases stating that One Tree Hill may not be renewed for an 8th season is the kindling for this petition. OTH fan's now must unite to prove to The CW and the cast and crew of One Tree Hill that your fan's from around the world and in America want/need a Season 8.
