What is a painting. Technology and art direction. Genres of Painting.

Painting - one of the oldest forms of art associated with the transmission of visual images by means of applying paint to a solid or flexible basis, creating an image using digital technology, as well as works of art made by such methods. To our times have come images of animals and people made in the era of primitive society on the walls of caves. Since then, many thousands of years have passed, but painting has always remained constant companion of man's spiritual life.

In the last century, it is certainly the most popular of all types of fine art. The most common are works of art, made of flat or nearly flat surfaces, such as stretched on stretcher canvas, wood, cardboard, paper, processed surface of the walls, etc., including a painting attributed, and made colors of images on the decorative and ceremonial vessels, surface of which may have a complex shape. There is also a narrow interpretation of the term art as works made paints on canvas, board and other similar materials. In a narrow sense, the term is opposed to painting works of art created on paper, for which the term is applied graphics.

Technology and art direction:

* Oil;

* Temperature;

* Enamel;

* Gouache (because as the basic material the artist uses paper, which is characteristic for graphic art forms - is classified as a schedule, talking about it and use the latter to create a monochrome works);

* Pastel (this technique is valid remark similar to that expressed about the earlier);

* Ink (in this case, as in the previous two - can not be unambiguously attributed to the chart; in the East, such as calligraphy, mostly using this material is traditionally painted as, indeed, academic Chinese painting used for the most part it is Mascara - achromatic scale);

* Painting on plaster: fresco and a Secco;

* Grattazh

* Grisaille

* Carnation

* Glaze

* Pointillism

* Sgraffito

* Sfumato

* Glue painting;

* Wax Painting: encaustic, wax and cold temperature method (encaustic on turpentine);

* Painting ceramic paints;

* Painting silicate paint;

* Watercolor painting (watercolor techniques are different, some techniques closer to the painting, some - to the schedule, so by chance in the thesaurus is present a turn: "watercolor painting")

* Dry brush;

* Acrylic;

* Mixed media;

Painting techniques are practically inexhaustible. All that leaves a mark on something, strictly speaking, a painting: paintings created by nature, time and person. It is already noted by Leonardo da Vinci. Traditional painting techniques: encaustic, tempera (with egg), wall (limestone), glue and other types. With the XV century, is becoming a popular oil painting, in the XX century there synthetic dyes with a binder polymer (acrylic, vinilik, etc.). Paint can is made from natural and artificial pigments. Gouache, watercolor, Chinese ink and polurisovalnuyu technique - pastel - also referred to the painting. Painting can be performed on any basis: in stone, plaster, canvas, silk, on paper, on the skin (including the body of the animal or human - tattoo) for a metal on asphalt, concrete, etc., and etc. Painting meets and is adjacent to the plastic arts, including architecture, sculpture, and it can participate in the formation of artificial and natural environment. Painting, like other arts, is illusory: it is - an imitation of a three-dimensional space in the plane, achieved by linear perspective and color. But its visual and also the color dimension (eye sees in an instant, almost infinite information) leads to a special place among all the paintings of Fine Arts.

Genres of painting:

* The architectural painting;

* Animalistic painting;

* Decorative: Scenery painting, allegorical paintings, mural painting, etc.;

* Historical: the historical paintings, battle paintings, documentary art, etc.;

* Religious: religious paintings, mythological paintings, etc.;

* Consumer: home painting, still life, landscape painting, portraiture, etc;
