The call center industry of the Philippines is one of the most successful industries in the Philippines, with its massive growth in less than a decade. According to many industry experts, the Philippine government had also recognized the industry as the Sunshine Industry of the Philippines not only because of its massive growth, but also because of the industry’s contribution in stemming the growth of unemployment in the Philippines.

So what are the reasons why the call center industry of the Philippines had grown so much in less than a decade? According to many industry experts, the reason why the call center industry had grown exponentially is because of its Outsource Call Center services for offshore companies.

Expanding to Foreign Companies
According to many industry experts, the main reason why the call center industry of the Philippines have grown successful in the past is because of the success of their Outsource Call Center services which led to many businesses and companies in the Philippines to gain their own successes in their own market.


However, other than to local companies, many call center companies and agencies in the country have also expanded to offer their call center services to offshore companies. Because of the government’s backing, many offshore companies have landed in the Philippines to hire third-party companies such as call center agencies. This led to its significant increase in terms of demands in the market.

Eventually, many new call center companies were founded in the Philippines which aims to offer their services to foreign companies only, normally because these call center companies and agencies were established by foreigners themselves, seeking success in a rapidly rising industry in the Philippines.

Because of this, the demand for manpower had also increased massively across the country. This had majorly solved the problem of unemployment in the Philippines while allowing Filipinos to enjoy a well compensated line of work as a call center agent.

However, other than success, the call center industry of the Philippines have also suffered a number of downturns in the past, particularly when Global Recession have hit the world, affecting many countries around the world, such as the US.


Effects of Global Recession
When global recession had hit the world, many call center companies and agencies in the Philippines have closed down due to the fact that most of their revenues are coming from the US. And because the US was one of the many countries which was heavily affected by global recession, only few potential investors are surveying for outsourcing sites.

Today, however, the call center industry of the Philippines have steadily picked up its pace in the market, while the number of new call center companies and agencies have steadily increased in the market, offering Outsource Call Center services to offshore companies returning back to the Philippines.
