The new HTC HD Mini has now been picked up by a second UK network operator, this latest HTC Mini phone is now available on a range of third party O2 deals following its recent release on Orange and initially as a SIM Free phone.

This new device follows on from the HTC HD2 with its massive 4.3 inch touch screen display, this new mini edition manages to shrink this down to a pocket friendly 3.2 inches whilst still maintaining the features found in the original model.

This means that still present is the quality 5.0 mega pixel camera with autofocus and flash, GPS with a digital compass, WiFi, Bluetooth, HSDPA and the latest version of the Windows Mobile operating system.

The HTC HD Mini also features the HTC Sense user interface which allows personalisation of the phones home screens as well as a smooth user experience navigating the menus.

The 'mini' badge is becoming increasingly more popular amongst both manufacturers and consumers, the first phone to launch under this name was the smaller version of the Nokia N97, the Nokia N97 Mini which the manufacturer claimed was aimed at the fashion and youth market.

The next to follow suit was Sony Ericsson, after launching their latest Xperia X10 model with a 4 inch touch screen they then announced their new Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini and Mini Pro editions both of which feature a similar 3.2 inch screen to the N97 Mini and new Mini HTC phone.

The most recent manufacturer to jump on the bandwagon is LG, they have now announced the release of the LG GD880 Mini which takes many of the design aspects of the previous LG Pop phone by incorporating a very small bezel around the touch screen which slims down the devices dimensions leaving this new LG phone as the smallest available with a 3.2 inch display.

The HD Mini is one of a number of new releases from the manufacturer with their new HTC Desire heading up the pack, this new phone offers a large 3.7 inch AMOLED display and has been joined by the new HTC Legend with both phones running on the Android platform.

The HTC HD Mini is a more compact version of the previous HTC HD2 which offers the largest touch screen currently available on the market, many find this just a little too big for their pocket and so this new mini edition should appeal to a wide audience.
