Does your child love putting on plays or singing to their favorite songs at home? If they really show a passion for entertaining, you might want to think about fostering their talents. If they are still a little young for singing classes you can still practice some fun vocal exercises that can strengthen their muscles and help to prepare them for singing classes in the future. If they are interested in child acting classesthen in acting classes there are some tasks you can try at home to make them feel more comfortable in front of a crowd.

If your child wants to be in singing classes:
• Try making different types of sounds like your child, and elevate your voices from low to high and vice versa.
• Encourage them to sing whenever there a song they like on the radio or on TV.
• Try using glissandos. A glissando is a sound that glides from one pitch to another. You can buy a pitch pipe to create a sound and have your child try to mimic the sound with their voice.

• Have your child practice humming. Humming increases the quality of a singing voice and extends the carrying power of a singing voice through the vibration it produces.
• Breath is essential in singing so your child should practice blowing with long breaths and short breaths. Your child can try blowing into a scarf for as long as they can. You can even make it a game by placing a cotton ball in the middle of the table and have you and your child on either side blowing. The first one who can blow it across the table first wins!

If your son or daughter wants to be in child acting classes:
• Have your child create 5 minute skits once a week depicting their favorite TV show, movie or actress or actor.
• Have them act out different scenes with various facial expressions and emotions.
• You can have your child experiment with different voices, accents and voice elevation from low to high.
