As part of their latest campaign, called "Let's draw a line under crime", Northumbria Police have produced a new video and are running an on-line competition. The video and competition are both based on several valuable items, which can be targeted by thieves. Outlines of these items (created using 100% recycled rainwater) can be found scattered across the streets of towns and cities in the Nortumbria Police area such as Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland and Hexham, as well as around the Northumbria Police website.

The website contains useful information and tips about crime prevention ranging from garden security to property marking and bike theft, neighbourhood watch schemes and vehicle security. The website also has the facility to register details of your property. This feature means that, in the event of some property being stolen, serial numbers and descriptions can be retrieved quickly.

To emphasise the purpose of the campaign a video has also been created which shows people becoming victims of crime. The video highlights a number of ways that people are targeted for valuable items with the hope that people will become more aware of keeping items safe and secure.

To video has been launched on the website along side the competition. To view the video visit the new campaign page on the Northumbria Police website at www.northumbria.police.uk/win
