Nokia Smartphones Scaling High in Western Europe

Smartphones are expensive handsets yet every company comes up with new features to dominate arch rivals in the mobile phone markets. The competition between mobile phone companies is very volatile and Nokia has shown up remarkable performance last quarter of 2010.

Manufacturing companies are fixing deals with different operating system companies to run their phones to have a firm existence in the international markets. And mobile applications sold out by these companies also define the shelf life of the handsets in the running markets.

Symbian, iOS, Microsoft, Android operating systems are some of the leading ones governing the mobile phone industry. And the applications run by users on handsets by aiding these operating system also define the importance of phones. According to market experts, Smartphones are determined to continue the Western European. Fourth-quarter 2010 figures reveal total mobile phone market growth of 3.2 per cent year-on-year to 58.7 million units. Smartphone exports have increased to 25.6 million units, a figure, which is quite surprising, a whopping 99.4 per cent higher. In comparison to Q4 2009, representing 44 per cent of total shipments.

Market analysts estimate Android to grow 37 percent compound annual growth from 2010 to 2015 in Western Europe and it is expected to grow higher than its arch rival, the iOS from Apple. In the meantime, Nokia and Microsoft have massive plans to work together on a single platform by creating a common operating system. Much sort for alliance could be a boon for Android and iOS to pool in Nokia and Microsoft loyalists before a concrete operating system gets devised by Nokia and Microsoft.
