The N95 gives up the Nokia proprietary pop-port and instead has a mini USB connector located on its bottom edge. The mini USB port cannot be used for charging, though, a task that is handled by a new style mini Nokia power connector. The Nokia N95 offers all of the flexibility and power that people have come to expect from Series 60 phones. Nokia's approach with the N95 seems to be to pack every feature imaginable.

Nokia is really starting to up the ante in the race to build the perfect multimedia phone, or "multimedia computer", as the company likes to call them. Their new N95, officially launched today at the Nokia Open Studio event in New York has a spec sheet that should make even the most die-hard pessimists drool a wee bit.

As such the N95 is one of the first phones with a 5 megapixel camera, has built in GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and supports high speed data via HSDPA, albeit not in the U.S. Of course all this doesn't come free as the Nokia N95 retails for $750 and is currently only available in the U.S. from Nokia's flagship stores in New York and Chicago.

The N95 comes in two versions the Nokia N95 & the Nokia N95 8GB which is an 8 Gbyte version of the popular Smartphone. The N95 comes with 160 Mbytes of internal memory & the user can expand the phones memory capabilities by adding a MicroSD™ memory card up to 2 Gbytes. The N95 comes with a 128 Mbytes MicroSD™ memory card included with the start up kit. The Nokia N95 8GB comes with 100 Mbytes of internal dynamic memory which allows the user to store their messages, images, applications & ringtones.
Immediate these are action buttons on this bleutooth handset on the top left and right (corresponding to on-screen menus); call and end buttons on the bottom left and right; and edit (the pencil) and clear keys for text operations. Only the top action buttons were an issue, and normally only when unlocking the keypad (as there is a sequence of left then right button to do so).
As with most phones, the battery lives under a door on the phone's back and the main camera is at the upper section of the back. The camera lens is protected by a door: slide the latch next to the lens to open it and start the camera application. Close it to exit the camera application. The latch is firm and the cover doesn't accidentally open in a pocket or purse. The LED flash sits next to the lens and there is no self portrait mirror (use the front-facing camera to take a photo of yourself).
