Movado's Artist Series has always celebrated the work of talented artists. The most recent edition to the notable series is Brooklyn artist Kenny Scharf. The collection, which features a total of six watches, is an eclectic and inspired set that are as eye-catching as they are stylish.

The first watch in Scharf's set is entitled "Blurple Time," a clever bit of word play describing the color theme of the watch. The dial features unique globular designs in various shades of purple and blue which cover the entirety of the watch face. Complementing this color scheme are two interchangeable Napa leather straps that come in either blue or black.

The next piece is called "Movado Time." Displaying an orange motif, Scharf displays the Movado name prominently over rings of warm orange, pink, and blue. The stylization of the lettering conjures images of 1950's sci-fi movies and gives the watch a funky edge. It comes with both an orange and black Napa leather strap.

"Universal Time" continues the spacey feel of "Movado Time." Scharf places a cartoon figure resembling Saturn against a space backdrop filled with stars, nebulae, and swirling galaxies. The straps available for this watch are cognac and black Napa leather.

Scharf's next watch is "Ontime." The name is fitting, as his design features a prominent painted compass on the face. Placed over a rich red background, the non-functioning compass stands out in fine green and yellow shading. The straps that come with "Ontime" are orange and black Napa leather.
"Time Flies" shifts the direction of the collection back to cartoon figures. "Time Flies" features a cartoon figure similar to a Pterodactyl, done in a style that recalls The Flintstones. Straps included are green and black Napa leather.

The last piece in the collection is "Starring the Sun." On the dial, Scharf has painted a circular rainbow around the center point, with rays of light emanating from the meeting point of the hour and minute hands. At 12 o'clock, there is a red cartoon sun smiling at the wearer. Its straps are either cognac or black Napa leather.

Every watch in Movado's Artist Series comes with a modified Museum Face steel case. The casebacks have been especially engraved. The crystals are sapphire, and the movements are high quality Swiss quartz movements.

Each watch is limited to 125 pieces. The first 25 have been manufactured to be included in 25 complete sets, while the remaining 100 will be available for individual purchase. Sets are sold for $3495 and individual watches are sold for $695.
