Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty made for an excellent sequel to the previous game. Much like its predecessor, the first installment on the PS2 contained many Easter eggs spread out throughout the game. Some of the available Easter eggs are listed below.

Codec Craziness
While you are watching any codec transmission you can move the left and right analog sticks to move the characters faces. Pressing R3 or L3 (analog sticks) will zoom in on the faces. If you press R1 or R2 while Raiden or Solid Snake are listening to someone, you can hear their thoughts. Some of the characters secret attitudes about their fellow characters are rather amusing.

Control the Projector in the Tanker
In the Tanker mission you will enter a hold full of U.S. Marines. In the Tanker Hold 2 area you can press the button on the projector to have the image change screens. If you do this enough, a picture of a woman will be displayed on the screen that the Marines are watching.

Hideo Kojima's Dog Tag
When you begin to play as Raiden, enter the name Hideo Kojima into the first node. When done correctly, Hideo Kojima's details will be automatically filled out. This includes his blood type, birthday, gender and nationality. This will also work with the name Yoji Shinkawa.

Posters of Metal Gear and Others
In the Shell 1 Core on the B2 level, enter the main area with all the computers. Look around at the walls and you can see a number of posters. Some of these posters are of previous Metal Gear games and other games developed by Hideo Kojima and Konami.

The Shaver
At the beginning of the Plant Chapter you can pick up a shaver by jumping over the rail and going into the area with the Diving Suit. When you first meet Plisken, you will give him the shaver. Doing this will result in you having a clean shaven Solid Snake at the end of the game. If you prefer a more rugged looking Solid Snake, simply don't pick up the shaver.

Vulcan Raven Toy
If you played Metal Gear Solid on the PS1, you may remember a character called Vulcan Raven. In the Tanker, you will see a shadow of what appears to be Vulcan Raven, but turns out to only be a toy. If you shoot it, it will fire small pellets at you.

Faster Grip Level Up
In order to increase your grip level you will need to do 100 pull ups. An easier way to increase your grip level however is to perform drop catches. This is when you drop from one ledge and catch another down below. A drop catch is equivalent to ten pull ups.

There are many other Easter eggs that can be found throughout Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Have a look around and see what you can find hidden within the game.
