"Mark Chamberlain is one of the few people I know who walks his talk everyday," wrote an art dealer on the Mark Chamberlain blog page on the website, Contemporary Art Dialogue.
The blog page discusses Mark Chamberlain as a fine art photographer, environmental, assemblage and performance artist and owner of BC Space Gallery, Laguna Beach, CA, exhibiting photography, visual and performance art.
In that 2,400 square foot gallery, he has used various media, his intelligence, artistry, altruism, energy and charisma to create his own groundbreaking artworks, many of which have helped preserve our natural environment.
The web page further explains that the artworks of Mark Chamberlain and those exhibited by hundreds of other artists at BC Space over the years have influenced the perception of photography as art, locally, nationwide and worldwide.
With quotes by art reviewer Peter Clothier ("He brings his meticulous craftsmanship to the creation of images that convey that reality in its smallest, most intimate detail") and by ArtScene publisher Bill Lasarow ("It is heartening to see an artist like Mark Chamberlain gaining regional recognition for a more than 40-year body of work distinguished as much for its community and collaborative nature as its pure aesthetic achievement"), the web page traces the 37 year history of BC Space. It discusses Chamberlain's early bodies of work, Dubuque Passages and Future Fossils, and describes his 636 feet long photomural, The Tell, erected in 1989 in Laguna Canyon.

It further explains that Chamberlain assumed sole ownership of BC Space in the late 80's, expanding the gallery's perspectives, adding visual and performance media, and mounting increasingly proactive and political exhibitions.
Fellow artist and admirer Janice Tieken writes in the page's comment section, "Mark is the rare embodiment of the Renaissance artist/gallerist/activist, able to roam in different realms of art with varied media, make it, show it, support others who show it, and not lose aesthetic focus. His gallery is that rare bright spot for the exchange of exciting ideas without the interference of the need for commercialism."
Jorg Dubin, another Laguna Beach artist adds, "Always with a good dose of humor and irony. I am thankful that in a commerce driven art world that we, artists, art lovers, protagonists and certainly the region as a whole are very fortunate that Mark and Jerry Burchfield (his former partner) landed here to add such an important venue to Southern California's creative community."

"Mark Chamberlain has touched the lives of thousands of people over the last 40 years through his work, his mentoring of others and through his compassion," writes website owner, Liz Goldner. "If you have been touched by his efforts or just appreciate them, I would love to hear from you." She then invites readers to comment on the blog page, Mark Chamberlain.

Liz Goldner's articles on art span the breadth and depth of works shown in Southern California, with references to national and international art pieces. Her stories, reviews and web pages bring to life painters, sculptors and performance artists; gallery and museum directors; community leaders, entrepreneurs and celebrities. She is creator/writer of the website/blog: http://www.contemporary-art-dialogue.com.
