As Christmas approaches like a runaway train, people everywhere are gearing up for this wonderful holiday that only comes once a year. Celebrations of Christmas last much longer than the one day, however. The entire Christmas season is one long celebration with special high points along the way to the big day. One such high point is the traditional writing of letters to Santa by the children. These letters are useful tools for parents to learn exactly what their children desire most for Christmas. Now it is possible for parents to arrange for children to receive letters from Santa or Calls from Santa. These two different ways to communicate can add up to one very happy child.

Letters from Santa are available at department stores, from individuals, and on the internet. These letters include enough personal details about the child, provided by the parents when ordering, to make it appear that Santa Claus has really taken time out of his busy schedule to sit down and write a personal letter. Most suppliers offer very limited choices of what can go into the letter or how it is worded. The best offer a wide variety of form letters to choose from and edit to personalize. Some even offer several choices of stationery to have the letter printed on. The smile on the face of a child is unbeatable when you hand him or her a letter with a North Pole postmark that says it is from Santa.

Calls from Santa can also be arranged in lieu of or in conjunction with the letters from Santa. Calls from Santa come in a couple of different formats. Live calls from Santa involve a fair amount of personal information being shared with the company making the calls in order to make it sound authentic. Information such as name, gender, Christmas wish, Pet name and type if any, accomplishments of the past year, and other such things provided by the parents when ordering can make a live call from Santa convincing enough to help even an older child continue to believe in Santa.

Prerecorded calls from Santa are more common and less costly than live calls from Santa. These calls do not require as high a degree of personalization as live calls because the call is usually initiated by a computer instead of a person. Carefully written scripts with places to edit in the name and gender of the child as well as pauses in strategic locations for responses from the child make these calls very smart and some highly interactive.

Whether one chooses letters from Santa or calls from Santa or both, the end result will be very happy children this Christmas season. Two different methods of communication with the common thread that the illusion is created that Santa has taken time out of his busy schedule to communicate personally with your child, mean one incredibly happy child. That happiness is infectious and will spread to all who see the special sparkle that letters from Santa or calls from Santa place in a child's eyes.
