Legally Blonde is a story about a sorority girl named Elle Woods who enrols into the prestigious Harvard Law to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. As Elle makes her journey through Harvard she realizes that her obsession for her ex-boyfriend has held her back from being successful. After realizing that life does not revolve around Warner she begins to learn about law and in turn is successfully triumphant in defending exercise queen, Brooke Wyndham in a very publicized murder trial. The importance of this musical is to show girls, women, anyone that respect for oneself needs to come first before anyone else respect you. It shows audience members that goals are meant to be achieved not for approval of someone else. It also teaches that not someone's intelligence should be judged by their appearance. Elle is very girly and feminine, but she is very smart. These lessons are taught through rousing musical numbers and also wonderful acting.
