Use kids Halloween games to keep kids busy this Halloween. Games can be used at a Halloween party, in the classroom or when children have a few friends visiting. There are a few games that are always a bit hit and will have the kids talking about them for some time to come. Listed below are four favorites that you use or adapt to keep kids happy, busy and a little bit scared this Halloween.

Four favorite kids Halloween games are listed below.

Spaghetti Brains
For this game you will need a large bowl of spaghetti with small items hidden throughout the spaghetti. Use plastic bugs or animals, trinkets, candies or even small household items like spoons, pens or paperclips. Each child has a turn at being blind folded and runs their hands through the ‘spaghetti brains’ trying to feel as many objects as possible. After each child has had a turn, they are wiped clean and given a piece of paper and a pencil. The child who can list most items that they felt in the spaghetti is the winner.

Witch’s Hat
This kids Halloween game is a version of a ring toss. Find a witch’s hat will stand up stiff and straight. It may need to be stuffed with paper so that it will. Next let the kids have turns at tossing rings of some kind onto the hat. Glow in the dark necklaces work well for this if these are used then the game can be played in the dark to give it more of a Halloween feel.

Trick or Treat
For this game you will need to write on cards before the game. Half of the cards will have the word ‘Treat’ on them and half of the cards will have the word ‘Trick’ on them. The ones will ‘Trick’ will also need to have trick that the child will have to perform on the card. It might be something like, sing a song, say the alphabet backwards, name 10 spooky movie characters or hop on one foot and tell a joke. The cards can then be placed in a plastic pumpkin of a witch’s hat. To play the game, the children sit in a circle and pass a small plastic pumpkin while spooky music is played. When the music stops, the child with the pumpkin picks a card. If it is a ‘Treat’ card, the child is given a small treat. If it is a ‘Trick’ card, the child must perform the ‘Trick’ that is one the card.

Halloween Words
For this game each child will have to think of a Halloween word that they want to make. It is best if all of the word are about the same length so specify that the word should be 5 or 6 letters. The word is written on their piece of paper and under the word, they draw a line for each letter of the word. The object of the game is to spell the word by writing in any letters contained in word as the letters are said. Next an adult calls out letters of the alphabet. As each letter is called the child writes the letter in their word if their word has this letter. The first one to complete their word is the winner.

These kids Halloween games are all great fun for Halloween. Play them with a small group of children or a large group and adapt them to suit the ability of the age group.
