Kangana Ranaut - Promising Young Actress

Kangana Ranaut is a beautiful new actress from the Hindi film industry. She is the daughter of Amardeep Kaur, a businessman and Asha, a school teacher, residing at Himachal. Confident about her talent and beauty, she decided to take up a career in modeling. To take things in the right path she joined the Elite Modelling Agency in Delhi. Within some time she got interested in acting.

Kangana started her career as an actress while working as a theatre actress with the Asmita Theatre Group. She acted in several plays, the first one being Taledanda by Girish Karnad, where she acted with Arvind Gaur, an Indian theatre director. Later on, she took things a step ahead and polished her skills to act in films. She got the much needed break in movies, after she made the right decision to shift to Mumbai.

Well Known film director Anurag Basu spotted her in a cafe in Mumbai and she was given a chance to act as the lead in his film Gangster. Kangana Ranaut got recognized as an actress in this commercially hit film. For her role in the film, Filmfare conferred her with the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Her good performance in the movie brought her next movie, Woh Lamhe.

She was chosen, once again by Anurag Basu, to play the character of a girl who searches for true love in the movie Life In A Metro. Her acting talent was applauded once again in this film. In Fashion, she enacted the role of a respected model who later on loses everything as a result of drug obsession. She got good reviews for this role. This film became a big success, which reflected modeling industry's negative side. Kangana Ranaut got National and Filmfare Award in the category of Best Supporting Actress for the excellent acting talent she showcased in this film.

Her performance in the suspense movie Raaz - The Mystery Continues was the last applauded one. Kangana Ranaut did a cameo in the movie Kites, alongside popular actor Hrithik Roshan.

Her dedication and sincerity to work has brought her good characters not only in North India but in South India as well. She plays along side Bobby Deol in her next release Vaada Rahaa, while her next upcoming venture is Ek Niranjan, which is directed by noted Telugu director, Puri Jagannadh.
