You might have often heard about aquatic creatures that are threat to swimmers and other water sports lovers. Similar to poisonous spiders and snakes, jellyfish is a dangerous water creature with poisonous sting that can kill you earlier than any other deadly creature in water. These are tiny, nearly invisible but highly toxic creatures that are spreading in great speed. Jellyfish has fatal venom that can cause you anxiety and intolerable pain, but box jellyfish is a deadly species of jellyfish that has the capacity to kill 3 grown-ups! People who are stung by the dangerous box jellyfish must be given first aid immediately and rushed to the hospital as soon as possible. Majority of swimmers, who are attacked by venomous box jellyfish, are never saved on time. The highly toxic jellyfish are the two out of the 19 species of jellyfish and other deadly water creatures on this planet. Also one of the two have adequate venom in its sting to kill at least 60 adult people in less than 3 minutes!

These jellyfish are bluish creatures and are transparent with a cubic body and 4 sides, thus the name box jellyfish. With 15 tentacles on every corner which measure 3 meters, have 5000 sting cells termed as nematocysts. Jellyfish shoots like a jet at the speed of 4 knots. They are found in the moist seasons in the creeks or river sides when the seas are calm. You can see these venomous jellyfish in corals, deep waters, near weed beds or sea grasses. These move in silent waters near the shore and at high tide, these move to the creeks and mouths of river. Usually, box jellyfish feed on small fishes and crustaceans.

There are almost no chances of existence if hit by its deadly sting, except given first aid immediately. Any person attacked by poisonous box jelly fish experiences unbearable pain to the extent that it is impossible for him to swim to the store, in fact he would rather drown . Vinegar is of immense help to person hit by its poisonous sting. It should be poured abundantly on the tentacles to destroy sting cell immediately. An individual may even need artificial respiration and thorough massage on cardiac region. Chironex Fleckeri, with a large body and very deadly sting is quite popular among other jellyfish. The stinging cells or nematocysts look like little poisonous darts seen on every tentacle along the whole length. The presence of box jellyfish near the beaches prevents the swimmers to enjoy swimming. But they are allowed to only when there are secured stinger nets fixed or if they are putting highly safe specially manufactured clothes for swimming.

In the Mediterranean Sea, around 30,000 people were stung by deadly jellyfish. It was thought that in per square feet area of water, there were nearly 10 jellyfish. It is commonly seen that jellyfish love to remain in warm and salt waters, thereby allowing swimmers to swim without any tension. But because of global warming, the temperature change has made offshore water more briny thus drawing more jellyfish on the coastal lines and more towards your naive legs. Beware, the jellyfish is coming!
