If you’re looking for a new pay as you go or pay monthly mobile phone there are plenty to choose from that incorporate the latest technology and also have that wow factor. Of course, one of the most in-demand is surely the Apple iPhone 4, but is there an alternative?

Well, some people have listed the HTC 7 Mozart as one of the most attractive options out there for people shopping for a mobile phone that is fast, feature-packed and equipped with the same kind of options as the iPhone. This particular HTC runs, not on Android like many of its other recent handsets, but instead uses the latest Microsoft Windows Phone 7 OS.

In addition, the device features a fantastic 3.7-inch touch screen that has capabilities including pinch-to-zoom and 720p HD video recording that make it a real contender for the iPhone’s crown. The 480 x 800 WVGA resolution display will allow you to see the pictures you take with the phones 8-megapixel camera clearly, while auto focus and xenon flash provides an extra level of quality to your snaps.

If, on the other hand, music is your thing, the HTC Mozart could be just what you need. Dolby Mobile technology and SRS WOW HD virtual surround sound are on board and the mobile phone also makes use of Microsoft Zune integration so you can easily manage your library of tracks. A 3.5mm stereo audio jack even means you can use most headphone types.

However, for many, it is the styling of the iPhone that is perhaps the most attractive feature. There is no doubt, the manufacturer has continued to put out pretty handsets so far and the fourth incarnation of the smartphone is arguably the best yet. But, this doesn’t mean a company like HTC can’t also bring their own sleek good looks to the table. The Mozart’s unibody design is crafted from a single piece of anodized aluminium and is built to fit as snugly in the palm of the user's hand as it is in their pocket.

The HTC Mozart was announced last year alongside a range of other new and upcoming Windows phone 7 devices. Microsoft was keen to point out that the aim of the series is to provide a smartphone software that integrates many popular mobile applications, but do so in a package that is fast, intuitive and allows the user free to get on with other, more important things in their lives – the idea being that it should be useful, but not take over everything you do.
