Energy prices continue to escalate making projects like going green very popular. This leads to alternative energy strategies. The answer is to eliminate your power bill. If you do it right and generate more energy than you use, the power company will purchase your excess power that feeds back to the grid. But, the critical question is "How do I go about going green"? Using professionals can be a costly proposition. Most people would love to go green on their own, but finding and evaluating the right program can be a daunting task.

Well, there is plenty of information out there, but sifting through it all can be astounding. The number of products alone is mindboggling. And yet, not every situation is ideal for conversion.

For instance, you may live in a condo where there is not enough area for solar panels, or enough land to construct a windmill.

So what do I need to do to harness renewable energy?

First, you need to decide whether you are converting to solar energy, wind energy or both.

Next, you need to identify a program to guide you through the conversion of your home and/or business to solar or wind generated power. Evaluating the best program should cause you to think about:
• Is your house or facility exposed well enough to harness sun or wind energy?
• How much energy could you successfully generate using either solar or wind energy?
• How much energy do you currently use? IE: how much of your generated energy will you be able to sell back to your power company?
Other considerations on selecting a green energy program are:
• Does it address what materials and components you need?
• Does it have a clear and concise parts list?
• Are the parts and components readily available?
• Does it have clearly explained blueprints and how-to videos?
• How much time will it take to construct, including the components?
• What will it cost? After all, you are going through this process to ultimately save money!

A search on how to implement your alternative energy project has already been conducted. These programs can be found at http://www.thomsonbestreviews.com/goinggreen and they were invaluable to me and saved me a great deal of time.
