Herbalife: A Review of the products. Are They Really Any Better

I'll have to make a confession. Before a year ago, I had never heard of Herbalife. In fact, I was introduced to the products after I signed up for a work from home program. I was looking for a way to suppliment my income so my wife wouldn't have to work outside the home. My hopes were to quit my job and have an internet based business I could run from my home office. Turns out, I bought a supervisor's position in the company in return for half off the cost of the products and a commission from my down line.

My wife thought I was crazy and set out on a mission to prove it. She scowered the internet for anything she could find about the company, and after a few days, dumped a large pile of print outs on my desk. Well, I felt the least I could do was to glance through them, since I really didn't have much choice in the matter. What I found was quite amazing. Sure, there were a lot of negative articles referring to Herbalife, but none of them were about the products they made. I read about the scandalous company president some many years back. I also read a pile of articles bad mouthing the company, all written by the same person(turns out he was the one with issues), but nothing negative about the products.

The company was started in the 70's with pretty much one product in it's line,the shake. The shake was developed for the space program as an altermative to solid foods for long space flights. The core product hasn't changed very much as far as the nutritional properties go, but I'm told it's come a long way in the areas of taste and consistancy. From my research, I wouldn't be very wrong in saying that it's probably one of the most studied and researched nutritional product around. It seems there are hundreds of independent studies over the years testing and retesting this product, all coming back with simular results: it seems to work well, and it won't kill you. That's paraphrased, of course.

Today, the product line has grown to a number of products ranging from dietary to skin care, all designed to provide nutrition to the body. As a guy, I have to admit I didn't go much further than shampoo when it comes to the personal care products, My wife, on the other hand did. She has always had very sensitive skin coming from a long line of red-heads, and has never been able to use the Wal Mart brands very much. So, since we had the fifty percent discount, why not! Turns out she was very pleased, and still uses select products for her and our little girl, who also has red hair.

Herbalife is known primarily as a weight-loss product, since that has been their target market. Personally, after being on the weight-loss regimin for three months, I had lost over thirty five pounds and four inches from my waist. Since then, I've continued with the core products, the shake, vitamin and their cell activator. I've maintained the weight loss, but more importantly, I've retained the boost in my energy levels. After I bombed at making any sort of income from selling the product, I stopped taking the it for a week. I felt just like I did before I got on the stuff! By the end of the day, I was run down and all I wanted to do was sit. The change was so obvious, even my wife asked if something was wrong. I got back on the shakes, and my body responded immediately.

Here's the secret. The shakes provide all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients required for a balanced meal without sugars, fats and chloesterol you don't need. This allows you to drink shakes all day without having to count calories. Bottom line, the stuff tastes great and your body loves it! If you want to feel better, I highly recomend Herbalife. If you want to lose weight, I don't think you will find a better product out there that is also good for you. The big thing about dieting is your personal mindset. If you're determined to stick with it, you will lose weight. No product will help you if you keep it in your cubbord.
