Go crazy with these phones

I am a complete tech crazy person and just love gizmo gadgets. As a child, cell phones were my first love amongst all machines out there and now I have grown up but cell phones still occupy a sweet spot in my heart. I launched a blog for this, it is called cellphoneshopper.net and I write reviews for all the latest cell phones that come in the market. That is right! I get tons of handsets in my labs for writing reviews on and so I consider myself quite lucky.

Amongst the various mobiles that I get in my lab for review, there are more of Motorola cell phones as compared to other manufacturer's products. Motorola has been coming with lots of mobiles lately and their latest masterpiece is Motorola Droid 2. It has a huge screen and the features are quite well built too. Being a smartphone, I would recommend this only to high end users. I also think that this phone will be a great competitor to the iPhone or HTC products.

If you ask me about my favorite phone, I would say
LG Fathom
. It has a really good display, the images and icons can be easily seen and I was also impressed at its brightness. LG Fathom comes with a full size QWERTY keyboard which gives an excellent typing experience. I have tested a lot of QWERTY keyboard phones and have found that they are pretty cramped. This makes it difficult to dial. Fathom doesn't have any such problems though. The handset comes with Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and it also has GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. These might be small extras for you but it goes a long way to make a phone good.

I won't say that the phone is perfect though; there are some issues like it has a resistive touch screen display. I would have liked a capacitive screen, just like the iPhone since it would have given a better experience. Resistive touch screens also need a stylus because the icons are a bit small. Resistive touch screens also require a more firm press on the screen. The phone has accelerometer which is really great for a smartphone but while testing, I saw some sluggishness. The image refresh rate too is a bit low. The exterior of the Fathom is very bulky and so you might find it hard to carry the phone around. I won't recommend this phone for people with less patience since it is a bit sluggish.

Sticking with the same manufacturer, I have also written LG Ally review. Verizon Wireless got this phone for me. It is a really sturdy device built around Android 2.1. This device has a really cool QWERTY slide out keyboard and typing on this one too is really comfortable. Other goodies on the handset include EV-DO Rev. A., Wi-Fi, 3.2 MP camera and Bluetooth. This is an excellent choice if you are looking for a messaging phone. I loved the feel phone and also loved the fact that the slider interface doesn't make the phone any thicker.

I have a few complaints here too; the LG Ally has poor photo quality for the camera. This phone is given by Verizon but there are no Verizon V Cast apps.

Cellphoneshopper.net covers all kinds of cellphones like lg alley review, Motorola cell phones and all entry level, mid range, multimedia and high end smart phones.
